On 18th May 2021 Duran Duran's first new single in 6 years was released. That night, a new issue of Cherry Lipstick was conceived - a new print issue celebrating the song and the new phase of our band's career - for publication in ONE WEEK. The call went out to Cherry Lipstick's writers, old and new.
On 19th May 2021 the first article for this new issue was written.
Confirmed contributors so far include:
Annie Zeleski, author of the new and critically acclaimed 33 1/3 album review series about RIO, who will be writing for Cherry Lipstick for the first time;
Ruth Galvin (Head Full Of Chopstick website);
C.K. Shortell and J.R. Kiss (authors of Cherry Lipstick album reviews);
Ben Vokes and Paul Nicholson (CL contributors since 1998);
Michael (CL contributor since 2017);
and at least two new writers for Cherry Lipstick!
Today is 23rd May 2021. The launch of pre-sale of this souvenir issue.
The plan: the issue to be ready to go to the printers and sent out around the world on Saturday 29th May, 10 days after the single was released.
It is quite the most dramatic and ambitious undertaking of Cherry Lipstick's 28 years in publication. It is the work of passion and commitment to you by these writers. It demonstrates the fantastic momentum within the fan community to INVISIBLE and this exciting new stage of Duran Duran's career.
And you can still join in! Add your views for the Cherry Lipstick Letters Page - please send an email about what you think about INVISIBLE to cherrylipstick1994.2000@gmail.com
